Host Jana Waller heads to the Mississippi to hunt ducks with Dave Mahlke, former Secretary of the NWTF. This isn’t just any duck hunt as the two remember those hunters who died in one of the greatest hunting tragedies ever…the Armistice Day Blizzard. Dave recounts his Grandfathers close call with death on that cold November day and how he escaped the storms wrath after shooting a duck with ice crystals in its nostrils and how that one sign told him it was time to get off the river. Dave brought along the same shotgun and decoys that his grandfather used that cold November day as a tribute to those who never returned from their hunt.
